Dying to Tell the Story - The Iraq War and the Media: A Tribute

Dying to Tell the Story - The Iraq War and the Media: A Tribute

This book is a labour af love and respeet for the 16 men and women working for the international media who died during the Iraq war in 2003 - the worst death toll in the industry for more than 30 years. Two others went missing during the conflict and must be presumed dead and two more have been killed in the months since, making a total of 21 in all.
The book has been funded by a relatively new journalists' organization, the International News Safety Institute, which was formed in 2002 and launched in Brussels in May, 2003. [You can read more details about INSI at the end of this book].
"Dying to Tell the Story" has been written in the space of just a few months and has brought together contributions from all the organizations - broadcasters, newspapers and magazines - who lost staff, freelances or local hires during the conflict. Our aim is to provide the only comprehensive account of how the journalists, cameramen and local staff died in and around Iraq. To honour their careers and to provide some insight as to why they were there and how they met their deaths.
We decided that each of the colleagues who died should have a section dedicated to them. We start with the first journalist to die in the conflict, Paul Moran, who was killed just three days into the conflict on March 22nd, 2003 and then we detail each death during the succeeding weeks, culminating with that of Elizabeth Neuffer of the Boston Globe and her translator in a car accident on May 9th, 2003. 226 Seiten.ACHTUNG: Bei diesem Titel handelt es sich um ein Buch, welches z.B. äußerlich leichte Mängel (Knicke, Flecken o.ä.) aufweist oder sich nicht mehr in einer aktuellen Auflage befindet und deswegen günstiger angeboten werden darf.
